Avondale Homes For Sale
Avondale is a neighborhood located in Redmond, Washington, in the United States. The area was originally inhabited by the Snoqualmie and other Native American tribes who used the land for hunting and fishing. In the late 1800s, European settlers began to arrive in the area, and a community began to form.
Real estate development in Avondale began in the early 1900s, with the construction of homes and businesses along the main road, which is now known as Avondale Road. The first major subdivision in the area was the Avondale Park Addition, which was platted in 1907. This subdivision included large lots, and many of the homes built during this time were designed in the Craftsman style.
During the 1920s and 1930s, real estate development in Avondale slowed due to the Great Depression. However, the area began to grow again after World War II, when many veterans returned to the Seattle area and were able to take advantage of the GI Bill to purchase homes.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Avondale experienced a significant amount of growth, with the construction of new housing developments and commercial areas. One of the largest developments during this time was the Ames Lake Community, which was built around Ames Lake in the late 1950s.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Avondale continued to grow, with the construction of more housing developments and the expansion of commercial areas. During this time, the Redmond Town Center shopping mall was built, which helped to further develop the area as a commercial hub.
In recent years, Avondale has continued to grow and develop, with the construction of new homes and businesses. Real estate in the area remains in high demand, due to the area’s proximity to major employers like Microsoft, as well as its easy access to the rest of the Seattle metropolitan area.
