About Maplewood
The area now known as Maplewood was originally inhabited by the Snohomish people. In the late 1800s, the first European settlers arrived in the area and began farming the land. The town of Edmonds was officially incorporated in 1890 and the Maplewood neighborhood was platted in 1907. The neighborhood’s name comes from the maple trees that line many of its streets.
Maplewood has a mix of historic and modern homes, with many of the older homes dating back to the early 20th century. The neighborhood is known for its large, well-maintained homes and its sense of community. The real estate market in Maplewood is competitive, with homes typically selling quickly and often above their listing price.
