Living In Bellevue
Nestled between Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish, Bellevue’s French name for “beautiful view” accurately reflects the Olympic and Cascade Mountain views that homes on its hilltops offer. Long considered a commuter town for Seattle, the expanding presence of Microsoft, Amazon and a host of tech start-ups means that Bellevue more than competes when considering the best place to live in the Puget Sound.
Far removed from its farming town origins in the late 1800’s, the 1940’s brought rapid growth after the Lake Washington Floating Bridge was built across Lake Washington connecting the community to the thriving City of Seattle and opening up the region as a city escape. Fast forward a century and the City has become the third largest in the Seattle Metropolitan area, with a booming economy thanks in large to the nearby Microsoft headquarters in Redmond.
